A loan of $550 helped to buy fertilizer and animal feed.

Blanca Elvia's story

Blanca has been part of the communal bank Nuevo Bankito la Ramada for two years. They live in El Canton de Nabon, a place that enjoys beautiful landscapes thanks to its rugged terrain. Its people are very warm-hearted and still keep alive the flame of their culture and traditions.

Blanca is 44 years old. She is married and in her conjugal union she has conceived four children. Three of them are married and live independently. One son is single and has a disability because of which he stays at home. Her husband works as a laborer. The house in which she lives is her own.

Blanca works daily at the chores of her home. She spends the largest part of her time at home. She works at cultivating her land and what she harvests she sells in her community or in the city. She also raises chickens, hens, guinea pigs, and pigs.

She is going to invest her loan in the purchase of fertilizer and feed for her animals.

Her goal is to have more animals to sell and therefore improve her income.
