A loan of $450 helped to buy larger amounts of silver jewelry items.

Angela's story

Ángela lives with her spouse and 5-year-old son in the city of Cartagena where she works selling silver jewelry and also candy to her main customers who are her neighbors and people from other parts of the city referred to her by them. She sells on credit and for cash working every day from 8am until 6pm.

Her business idea arose because she was jewelry store employee and learned how to recognize quality jewelry, especially items make of silver and sometime later she became independent and started selling chains, earrings and bracelets.

She’s currently applying for a Kiva loan, her first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to buy a larger amount of silver jewelry items to sell among her customers who have already placed orders for items to sport at Christmas and New Year’s. Her goal is to make the business grow and to own a house because her greatest challenge is to provide the best well-being conditions for her son to have a successful future.
