A loan of $1,175 helped a member to pay for harvesting fees, potash purchasing, and labor costs.

Noem's Group's story

Originally from Battambang Province’s Moung Russey District, Noem is 57 years old. He is one breadwinner in the family who needs to raise two children out of eight children, as they are still in school.

Noem’s income is mainly from five hectares of rice-cropping and two hectares of long bean-growing. He is able to make almost 27,000 KHR per day to cover the daily necessity expenses in the family.

Noem’s original loan was one of his three cycle loans, which he completely repaid back already. The past subsequent loans have helped him to better support his business and relieve his family’s burden.

Now, Noem forms a group of four members and he is in his fourth-cycle loan. He is the group leader and is applying for 1,400,000 KHR. As the leader, he is going to use his portion to pay for harvesting fees, potash purchasing and labor costs.

He hopes that this purchase will support his business on time and get back to him triple yield; thereby, he can upgrade his standard of living for his children’s sake.
