A loan of $775 helped to buy a bicycle and ingredients to make ice-cream.

Santos's story

Santos, 30, is married and has two children. His wife does household chores and also helps him with the business. Santos used to be employed by an ice-cream selling firm and he then decided to start his own business. He started out selling with just a small freezer and a bicycle. Currently, Santos has a bigger freezer and three bicycles to distribute ice-cream and covers a larger sales area. He has two employees and his work day starts at 7am and ends at 6pm.

The loan Santos is asking for is needed to buy ingredients to make ice-cream and to buy a bicycle to help him cover his entire market. This loan will change Santos’ life because he’s not had enough money to buy the necessary merchandise to meet customer demand. The only problem he faces is the rainy season when sales drop. One of his goals is to open a larger ice-cream distributing center with much more productivity. This is his first FAMA loan and he intends to make his payments punctually.
