Anabela's story

Anabela is 19 years old, single, and lives in Sololá with her parents and four siblings. They all work together to develop the family.

She is a hardworking woman who farms and raises carrots, potatoes, cabbage, and thyme on family land located a few steps from her home. She learned this from her parents when she was small, now she works half a day and studies to become an elementary school teacher during the other half. She’s been working in the fields for a year to support her parents and so that she can finish her last year of school. She wants to start her own crop as a primary source of income.

She has seen good profits from her crops and wants to expand, so she is asking for a loan of Q 3,500 to buy carrot seed and fertilizer that she needs in order to have successful crops and sales. This will increase her and her family’s income.

She has a dream to expand her crops, helping her family, and improving her living conditions. She also wants to support her siblings so that they can finish their schooling.
