A loan of $800 helped to buy chicken meat, carbonated drinks, and beer.

Aidee's story

Aidee is an indefatigable woman. She is 46 years old and happily married to Pablo, with whom she has four children, although only two of them still live at home. They live in their own home located in a small rural community in the central rainforest.

Aidee is an exemplary woman. Thanks to her abilities, she has been able to provide for and educate her four children. Currently, she has a food shop where she sells soft drinks, snacks, and basic necessities. She also sells chicken meat, which is her most profitable product. "Besides chicken meat, soft drinks and cold beer sell best," she explains. Every week, she travels to the nearest city (one and a half hours away) to purchase chicken meat and drinks.

In the future, she would like to set up a larger shop where she would offer all kinds of products. She trusts that with hard work and persistence, she can achieve that. For now, she continues to work in the fields, helping some farmers weed their crops.

This is Aidee's eighth loan with MFP, so she will be responsible in making her loan payments as she has been in previous cycles. With respect to her communal bank, "Luz del Futuro" ["Light of the Future"], she says that she feels very pleased and satisfied with their teamwork.

With the money, she will be able to purchase more chicken meat, soft drinks, beer, and other products to offer in her shop.
