A loan of $200 helped buy organic manure bags.

Rosa's story

Rosa is 45 years old, she lives with Fernando, her partner with whom she has 6 children; most of them already have their own family. That is why she and her partner live with the youngest child who is 8 years old in their own home located in the central jungle. Rosa works with endless energy on her agricultural farmland, she is a responsible farmer. In the 5 hectares of agricultural land, she has 30 quintals (100 kgs) of coffee, orange, lemon and avocado trees.

Her work has allowed her to have enough to get a truck that is driven by one of her oldest children. With the transportation she also provides freight services and transports mostly fruits crops of her neighbors to the city that are stored in wooden crates. “For each trip we are charging about 80 soles, this changes according to the quantity of the shipment,” she says. Each harvest she gathers her products in crates and offers them to her buyers. She does well.

That is how she works in coordination with her son, the income is beneficial to both.

Among Rosa’s wishes is that she would like to see her 8 year old daughter be a professional and earn a university education, that is why she will keep working until she metes her goals. This is her third loan with MFP. She belongs to the “Light of the Future” communal bank and is happy to be working with active and supportive people. Rosa says that she will pay her payment quotas on time.

With the 500 soles she will buy organic manure bags for her coffee crops and crates to translate the plantain harvest.
