Kelly Johana's story

Kelly, 26, is a young woman who sells footwear, clothing and gold jewelry. She does her pre-sales and then distributes her goods and collects payment from her credit customers. Since she started a year ago she pays cash for her purchases in specialized stores in the city of Bucaramanga where quality of said products in unequalled. Her main customers are her neighbors and employees they refer to her. Kelly’s main goal is to make her business grow because she dreams with acquiring her own locale and her greatest challenge in not having a source of financing to help her while her accounts receivable are collected. Because of this, she’s calling on a Kiva loan, her first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to buy footwear, blouses, jeans and items of clothing to take advantage of the Christmas and New Year’s season when families dress up elegantly to celebrate and welcome the year that’s beginning. This is why her Kiva loan, her first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, will be successful because it will help her have additional working capital to buy in larger amounts and it comes at the best time of the year for sales: the month of December.
