Sarah's story

Sarah, 32, is determined and hard working. She is a mother of two children, ages 10 and 12. They stay at home with their mother at Congo Town and are in school. For the past nine years Sarah has been selling oranges, plums, bananas, pineapples, and cucumbers adjacent to the supermarket. Her daily sales are high every day because she has many customers. She learned this trade from her mother and started in this business with the little amount that she saved with the saving club. She works 13 hours a day. She transports her goods to her business area by commercial vehicle. Sarah thanks the lenders for empowering her in her business. She has requested a loan to purchase more plantains, oranges, eddoes, and cucumbers for the business. Her plan for the future is to have a bigger store where she will sell different kinds of fruit.
