A loan of $375 helped to buy fertilizer and pay labor costs.

Edwin Marbely's story

Edwin, 26, is single living with his mother in a community in La Morazán municipality, Yoro Department. Edwin used to work as a salaried day laborer but for the last 8 years had been growing basic grains and renting out pastureland. At the moment, he’s asking for a 7,000 Lempira loan to buy fertilizer and pay labor costs to plant two manzanas [Central American unit of land measurement] of corn. He hopes to earn good profits that will make it possible for him to enlarge his planted area for the next harvest.
