Leidy's story

Leidy owns a business where she sells much variety and low-cost novelty items. She started this activity a year ago because she’d acquired experience working in a store that sold the same kind of merchandise and since its owner was unable to continue with it she decided to sell it to Leidy who has kept it going making it grow little by little. She sells for cash and also on credit while she makes her purchases daily; her work schedule is 8am to 6pm. Leidy’s market is concentrated among her local neighbors and from adjacent areas that know about her activity and frequently come by to buy from her because they find everything they need.

Taking advantage of the approaching Christmas and New Year’s season, Leidy is applying for a Kiva loan to buy toys, clothes and footwear which is what her clientele most requires; they’ve placed orders for the merchandise she plans to buy which is precisely where her Kiva loan’s success rests in addition to the many discounts she’ll get from her suppliers which leads to her offering very competitive prices to her customers which in turn leads to her dear buyers being loyal to her.
