Atrevete A Emprender Group's story

This communal bank is called “Atrévete a Emprender” and is made up of 17 entrepreneurs who have different business, among them are: linen, wallets, table cloths, paper goods, frozen products, clothing sales, and other services. All of them live in the city of Concepcion.

Luisa is a member of the communal bank. In the image she is shown standing in the last row. She is the tallest, wearing a white top and has a pair of sunglasses on her head. She has chestnut hair and wears it long and loose.

She sells sausages and has done so for a month. She says that she works from her home and started offering her sausages by word of mouth. Now her customers visit her in her home to buy in large amounts.

She buys what she needs in San Carlos, where she buys in quantity, at low cost and therefore financially convenient.

She will use the money from this loan to buy sausages in quantity.

One of Luisa’s goals is to continue in her field to attract more customers and supply her business with sausages so that she can generate more income and improve her quality of life. Luisa lives with her husband and four children, ages 20, 15, 12, and 9. Her personal dreams are to study hairstyling and beauty and provide a good financial atmosphere for her family.

She is very happy and grateful for the opportunity given by Fondo Esperanza because it allows her to invest in her business. She says that the training has been fundamental for her business and also for her own personal development because she has learned to organize and distribute her investments and revenues in a better way. As far as her communal bank, she says that there is good communication among the members.

Concepción is located at the mouth of the Biobío river, one of the largest in the country, located in southern Chile, in the Biobío region. It’s the center of important battles and significant settlements, especially during the Arauco war on the border of the Mapuche territory. The city currently has the most important economic, demographic, managerial, financial, and commercial developments in Chile, after Santiago and Valparaiso.
