A loan of $650 helped to buy inventory.

Jaime Enrique's story

Jaime does two things to generate income to benefit his family; which includes his wife and children. He’s 53 years old and has 29 years’ experience in his business. He knows a lot about his business where he sells periodicals and fast food, such as fruits, hot dogs, soft drinks, and other things. He sells from a stall for cash and credit to neighbors within the sector and other adjacent neighborhoods. He also sells in recreational areas, shopping centers, and at formal and informal activities.

Jamie is very organized and knows the high points of his sales very well; when they are approaching, when families celebrate Christmas and New Year; festivals that increase consumption of the foods that he sells.

He will take advantage of this season and has requested a Kiva loan, his first loan through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, where he will buy sausages, flour, cooking oil, salt, and sauces in quantity, so that he can get discounts and pass the savings on to his customers so that he can compete effectively in the market. His goal is to progressively increase his family income, and what better way is there to do it?
