Parveen's Group's story

Parveen is a 38-year-old woman who is living in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, with her husband, two daughters and three sons. Her husband is a laborer. One son is an auto mechanic, while the others are a laborer and student respectively. Parveen's husband's income is insufficient to meet the household expenses; therefore they are going through a very difficult time.

Parveen is a very hardworking and independent woman. She has an excellent skill of making bangles. By selling handmade bangles, she helps her husband to meet the family's needs and her children's education expenses. She has been operating her business very efficiently and honestly for the past 20 years. Her clients always love her work and appreciate her a lot for her excellent skills.

Parveen, as a member of a six-person lending group, has requested a loan from Kiva partner BRAC Pakistan. With the loan amount, she will be purchasing some material to make more variety of bangles.

As she is living in a rented house with her family, she dreams of building her own house. She also desires to increase her business and to provide a quality education for her children. Parveen and her family are very much thankful to both BRAC Pakistan and Kiva.
