Milena's story

Milena lives in the city of Malambo with her spouse and her 2 children who are 4 and 10 years old. There she has a hairdresser's shop, where she offers personal and professional image improvement to all her neighbors of the neighborhood and other nearby sectors. The product lines with which she works are cutting hair, hairstyles, make-up, manicure and pedicure, among others, which she offers to her clients who are men, women, girls and boys. She serves her clients daily from 7 in the morning until 9 at night or later if it's necessary.

She started her dedication to beauty many years ago by making home visits, but little by little she assembled her customers concentrated in her neighborhood and since 4 years ago started working from a place in her home. All of this was done with the goal of generating income that would benefit her family, be attentive to her children and in addition develop her potential in this trade, which is what Milena likes the most.

Currently she is applying for a Kiva loan, the first financing that she is requesting with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she will buy supplies such as shampoo, hair products and general beauty products in greater volume. With this purchase she will gain special discounts which will allow her to reduce her costs and make a little more, in addition to transferring some good prices to her customers, which makes her Kiva loan a successful investment.
