A loan of $850 helped to buy assorted clothes and shoes.

Beatriz De La Asunción's story

Beatriz has a variety store where she’s been selling a wide selection of goods for 16 years. Her inventory’s diversity has led to her sustainability and every season she’s willing to invest everything necessary to meet her needs. This is how at the end of the year Christmas and New Years are the main reasons for her sales and this is why she needs working capital to have everything her customers need without exception because her prices are fair and her variety store is very well-known in her neighborhood; they even wait for her f she’s away shopping or doing other chores her business requires. She sells for cash and some on credit. She’s very happy in her business because she says she needs answer to no one, that is, she likes the autonomy with which she’s developed her capacity to work.

She’s currently applying for a Kiva loan, her first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo to buy assorted clothing and shoes that will do until the next season, like Mother’s Day, arrives and she can also sell them then. Her Kiva loan will be very successful because of the busy commercial season in which it will be invested because all her customers will have their needs, wishes and interests met in her variety store.
