Nazanin's story

Nazanin is a 39-year-old Iraqi woman. She is married and a mother of two children. With limited career options due to cultural restrictions and domestic constraints, she is one of the many Iraqi woman who is working from home, using her sewing skills to generate some income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

She has two years experience with a small home based business activity. She has been able to build up a nice clientele in the past years and would like to continue providing high quality products for them. Currently her work area is a small space on the foyer between the main entrance and the kitchen in her house. She would like to improve her work conditions and renew her work area. To be able to pay for the work she took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq in the amount of $2400.
