A loan of $2,550 helped to purchase cows.

Zairakan's story

Zairakan is 56 years old and is married with eight children. Her husband helps her around the house. In search of a source of income for her family, Zairakan started her business raising animals in 1975 with a starting sum of 16,000 som (KGS). Having successfully worked in areas like livestock and agriculture, Zairakan also grows fodder, which she uses to feed her animals. She sells the extra fodder to supplement her family's income. In addition to the fodder, Zairakan also grows wheat on her plot of land. Her monthly income is 5,000 KGS. To further increase her business, Zairakan has turned to Bai Tushum and Partners to ask for a loan of 120,000 som (KGS) to buy cows. With the income from this loan, she plans on improving her family's standard of living. Zairakan has told us that in the future she plans on paying for her younger son's education and improving the living conditions of her animals.
