A loan of $250 helped to buy farming supplies.

Alvaro's story

Álvaro is 36 years old and lives in a home of his own, along with his wife and son. He has been a farmer for many years and raises basic grains such as rice, beans, and corn. Each year he repeats this activity and it’s the only way he knows to earn a living. He is a hardworking, enterprising person and lives under very humble conditions with his family, but this situation does not diminish him, instead it strengthens him to continue working toward a different quality of life for his family. He works hard to bring home the bacon, since he doesn’t have another source of income, other than farming. It’s for this reason that he has decided to request a loan though INTEGRAL so that he can invest in compost, fertilizer, pesticides, and seeds. With his faith in God and his hard work, he hopes to have an abundant harvest. He will sell part of it and use the rest for personal consumption. He hopes to achieve his dream of providing a better quality of life for his family.
