A loan of $450 helped to pay for his school fees and books so that he can graduate.

Victor's story

Victor is drawn to medicine for two reasons. He dreams of being able to help people through medicine and is passionate about biology. But also the salary he expects to receive as a trained doctor is incredibly enticing. Currently to afford his school fees, Victor works 30 hours a week and makes around $3.80 a day. Neither of his parents went to college, his mother works as a vendor and his father in construction. With 3 siblings, one of whom is already in university, household finances are extremely tight. Right now, Victor is attending his classes and managing to study without his textbooks. Victor expects that with a career as a doctor he will be able to earn $28 a day. With this kind of income he will be able to not only help his younger siblings attend university but he will be able to save for his own family in the future. With the money from this Vittana loan Victor plans on purchasing the books be needs to excel in his medicine program. Additionally with the extra money a loan will bring in, Victor will be able to focus more of his time on studying. Right now, his part time job frequently conflicts with his university sanctioned internship and often he has to skip his internship in order to work. With this loan Victor feels he will be able to spend more time at his internship cultivating his skills as a doctor and will benefit from it in the end.
