A loan of $600 helped to buy sacks of organic manure.

Rosa's story

Rosa, 33, is a hardworking woman living with her husband and children who she cares for in the house they both built with much sacrifice. Since she was a girl, her main economic activity has been agriculture. The hard chores she has to do to prepare the soil help her value the food produced every day; “it’s not easy,” she comments. Her main crops are potatoes, corn, wheat and alfalfa. Her greatest motivation is her children because she wants to give them a good quality of life. For the moment, she heads out every day to do her work in the fields. She feels happy because she gets help from her children who as part of the learning process for life take care of the house and watch over the animals. Her husband also works in the fields and both of them as a couple work so that in a few months the fruits of their hard work will serve as support for the family economy.

She belongs to the “Manantiales de Ullusca” (Ullusca Springs) communal bank and this is the fifth MFP loan. She’s grateful for the financial support provided because it helps her improve her business. Because of this, she promises to be punctual with her installment payments. Rosa will use the money to buy organic manure to nourish her next crops.
