A loan of $600 helped to furnish her office.

Janet's story

Janet, 41, has lived with her husband and two children in a rented house for five years. For the last four years, she and her husband have had a consulting firm working in potable water and drainage installations in various communities along the country’s coast. The activity they have is profitable because her spouse is an engineer by profession and this is why their potential clients come to them for services. In all this time they’ve been working she’s seen the great advantages her profits bring to her economy which is why she’s decided to improve her small home-based office’s facilities in addition to very soon installing a branch office of the drainage firm to start projects in this part of the country. On the other hand, she also hopes to improve income from the restaurant she owns because her other passion is cooking; she’s a chef by profession.

This is her second MFP loan and she’s very happy to know that she’ll have financial support. It pleases her to be part of her communal bank because all the members are responsible, mutually supportive people. In addition, the loan will be very useful for her economic activity’s progress. Janet will use the money to furnish her home office for the drainage projects she’s planning with city government.
