A loan of $600 helped to buy 40 sheep.

Obdulia's story

Obdulia, who is 42 years old, lives with her husband and 4 children in their own home which is located in the Tambo area. For the past 5 years she has run a business selling sweets at a nearby school. This business is stable and it provides the regular income that she needs for her household.

However, a short while ago she started working in another activity: the sale of animals, principally good quality lambs. It is for this that she wants to increase her economic capital. She sells them at the livestock market held in the city every weekend. In the short-term she hopes to have higher capital in order to buy more sheep and sell them at a higher price. She already has many customers and she would like to be able to supply them with better quality sheep.

This is her fifth loan with MFP. She is very happy in the knowledge that she has financial support. Furthermore she enjoys being part of her communal bank as all of the members are responsible and supportive, Also the loan will be very useful in helping to progress this economic activity.

Obdulia will invest the money in the purchase of 40 sheep for her animal trade business.
