Kanusda's Group
In this Group: Kanusda, Sadia, Nasreen, Khalida , Sajida, Yasmeen
Kanusda is a 36-year-old hardworking woman. She lives in Pakistan with her husband, son and daughter. Both of her children are studying, and her husband is doing a private job.

Kanusda is facing a really difficult time, as her husband's income is inadequate to meet the family's needs and to pay for the children's educational expenses. So Kanusda is trying to help him fulfill their needs by sewing clothes. She is a very efficient tailor and wants to generate more income by purchasing a new sewing machine. But due to financial constraints, she is unable to purchase it.

For that, as a member of a six-person lending group, she has requested a loan from Kiva's Partner, BRAC Pakistan. She will use the loan to purchase a sewing machine to sew more dresses and to satisfy the needs of her clients more professionally.

Kanusda will extend her business if she gets a good amount of profit in the future. She hopes, with the help of the loan, to reach her desired net income and to be able to save for their future. She dreams of giving her children a quality education.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
