A loan of $400 helped a member to pay labour costs for harvesting rice.

Yet's Group's story

Yet resides in a rural village of the Kror Kor district of Pursat province in Cambodia. She is 31 years old and married with one daughter. To support the family, Yet and her husband have been farming rice for 10 years. They supplement their income by working for others for a fee. Their business earns the family about 6,000 Cambodian riel (KHR) per day to meet the family’s needs. Yet’s group consists of three members, all of whom live in the same village. This is her first microloan with Kiva’s partner, Vision Fund. She is leading her group in a request for a loan of 500,000 KHR each. Yet is going to use her portion to pay labour costs for harvesting rice. She hopes to get a high crop yield from her rice paddy so as to improve her standard of living.
