A loan of $900 helped a member to spend on labor costs for harvesting rice.

Ngem's Group's story

Ngem, aged 57, is living in a rural village of the Thmor Koul district and has five children, two of whom are dependents and still in school. He and his wife are farmers in the area to make a living. He has been in this business for fifteen years. Ngem has been with VisionFund for one cycle and completely paid back the past loan, while the other member has been with VisionFund for six cycles. He has successfully used the previous loan to better support his family's living conditions. Now he is leading his group to apply for another loan. As the leader, he is going to use his portion to spend on labor costs for harvesting rice. Ngem hopes to earn more income from his rice paddy so as to improve his standard of living and keep his children in school.
