A loan of $3,000 helped to pay for a calf and forage for feeding the livestock.

Kekel's story

Kekel lives in Meghri town with her husband and 23-year-old son. She is involved in agriculture. She breeds cattle and also has an agricultural land where peach, apricot, apple, pomegranate and fig trees are grown. She works hard in order to gather a good harvest and sell it in the local markets. Kekel's husband works out of the country as a constructor and provides financial assistance to his family. But because of the seasonality of his work he isn't able to cover the family's basic needs for the whole year.

So, Kekel has requested the loan to expand her agricultural business. With the help of the loan she will purchase a calf and forage for feeding the livestock. She will raise and fatten that calf and will use its milk in the cheese production. Selling that cheese will increase her income and enable her to provide better living conditions for her family.
