Vicente Gonzalo's story

The members of the Los Compañeros communal bank meet every two weeks in the city of Portoviejo, capital of Manabí, known as the city of the royal tamarinds. Vicente lives here. He is 23 years old, is married, and has a year and ha half old baby. His wife is a merchant. He has been with the communal bank for three cycles and he likes it because the loans have helped him improve his business.

He is a hardworking young man who does what he needs to get ahead with his family, doing honest work. He has a café in the city, where he works every evening and night. His wife helps him sometimes and other times he prepares hors d’oeuvres for social occasions. He also sells these in his cafe. He’s been doing this for two years and supports his family in this way.

He will use the money from this loan to buy drinks, coffee, and certain food to prepare his hors d’oeuvres.

His dream is to grow his business.
