A loan of $1,075 helped to buy school and office supplies.

Carmen's story

Carmen, 54, is single and has three children; she lives with her family in a community in Nueva Frontera, Santa Bárbara Department. Carmen is a teacher by profession; she works as a Kindergarten principal in her community. With the goal of earning higher income, she opened a business selling school and office supplies a year ago.

She decided to request a 21,000 Lempira loan to buy school supplies like spiral notebooks, normal notebooks, graphite pencils, ball-point pens, markers, bond paper and construction paper. With the financial support she hopes to increase sales and use profits to remodel her house so she can install her business there.
