Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,000 helped to buy 25 bags of corn.

Kedeme Pélagie's story

32-year-old Kedeme Pélagie is married and the mother of 4 children, 3 of whom attend school. The eldest child is 15 years old and the youngest, 3. Kedeme Pélagie has specialised in selling bags of corn for several years and gets her supplies at one of Benin's markets. In order to increase her working capital and satisfy the expectations of her customers, she has requested and obtained a microloan from Finadev. The profits made thanks to this loan will enable her to contribute to her children's education and to meet her own needs.
