A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase "pagnes" (traditional West African printed cloth).

Mawouéna's story

Mawouéna has been specializing in the sale of "pagnes" (traditional West African printed cloth) since 2007 in her local market. Mawouéna is 56 years old and the wife of a teacher. She and her husband have two children, aged 30 and 32 years old.

Mawouéna is seeking her third loan from WAGES to buy pagnes. She expects this to help combat the lack of recent sales, due to a shortage of quality goods as demanded by her customers. Mawouéna wants to use her earnings to purchase more pagnes. Her ambitions are to open her own shop and to ensure the self-sufficiency and nourishment of her family.
