A loan of $800 helped a member to buy fabric and a sewing machine for a tailoring business.

Nasreen's Group's story

Nasreen is a 36-year-old woman who works hard while raising her one son and four daughters. Her husband is in military and her son works in a tire shop. One of her daughters is currently employed as a beautician. Nasreen is a tailor by profession and gets help in her business from one of her daughters. She works eight hours a day and uses her entire income to cover household expenses. Unfortunately, she has no money left to set aside for savings. Nasreen is a member of a four-person group which is requesting a loan from Kiva partner BRAC Pakistan. She will use her portion of the loan to buy fabric and a sewing machine for her daughter. Today she shares her sewing machine with her daughter, and they will be able to save time and work more efficiently with two machines. Nasreen hopes that this loan will be benefit both her and her daughter. In the photo, she is the person who holds a passbook in her hand.
