A loan of $675 helped compra de paja para fabricar colchones payasas.

Nora Hortencia's story

Nora is 37 years old, married and has four children, ages 6, 8, 10, 1nd 16. She makes straw mattresses called “payasas,” which she sells to salespeople who take them to population centers farther out form the rural areas of the La Paz department. Her house is located in the Kalajahuira zone. This will be her first loan through the institution. Norma will use this loan to buy supplies such as straw because it’s still green in December and needs time to dry out so she can use it.

Norma has challenges in her business, among them is that she needs to speed up production. The inclement weather and low temperatures cause her some problems. She will use the benefits to improve her finances and give presents to her family at the end of the year. She wants to improve her production so that she can get her son ahead.
