Mohamed M.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group (Mohamed M.'s Group) of secondary school teachers from Waterloo, a small town near Sierra Leone’s capital city, Freetown. These teachers have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to request a loan of 7,500,000 SLL for the entire team in order to solve their immediate financial needs.

At the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.

Michael is the featured leader of this group of teachers. A native of Kono district in eastern Sierra Leone, the 40 year old is married to a nurse and the couple has one child. Michael has served in the teaching profession for many years. He has requested this loan in order to invest in agriculture.
