James E.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of primary school teachers from Waterloo, a small town near Sierra Leone’s capital city, Freetown. These teachers have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to request a loan of 9,000,000 SLL for the entire team in order to solve their immediate financial needs. And at the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.

Amadu is the featured leader of this group of teachers. A native of Moyamba district, in southern Sierra Leone, the sexagenarian is married with six children. A very resilient and knowledge-loving man, Amadu has requested this loan in order to finance his education in a higher institution of learning.

In this group: James E., Amadu K., Samuel S., Edward A.
