Alaa, who appears in the picture, is a 48-year-old woman. She is married and the mother of five sons. Alaa's husband is a school teacher who gets a low salary, which is not enough to cover all the family's needs and his sons' education expenses.
For the past five years, Alaa has been making traditional foods, pastries and sweets in her home, to sell to her customers upon their request. Alaa's project has been a profitable one and a second, helper source of income to the family. Her business also needs more support to cover its costs.
Alaa is requesting a USD loan from FATEN to help her cover the cost of purchasing a new oven. Taking this loan will enable Alaa to grill her pastries and sweets in less time, and to provide her customers with high quality. This will increase customers' demand, increasing Alaa's sales and improving the family's income.
