Uulbek's story

Uulbek is 53 years old and widowed with two children. Her son works in Bishkek. Uulbek's husband died suddenly. They had started their business together, but after his death Uulbek was left alone with the children and all the household problems. Despite all the troubles, Uulbek is still lively and cheerful. She firmly believes in a bright future for her family. Uulbek is involved in animal husbandry and agriculture, which are the main sources of income for her family.

Thanks to her perseverance and hard work, Uulbek was able to develop her business with 20,000 som (KGS) and now her monthly income is 10,000 som (KGS). To further increase her business, Uulbek has turned to Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan of 50,000 som (KGS) to buy one cow and to get ready for the spring. She plans to use the income from the loan to expand her tilled field and to increase her head of livestock. Uulbek dreams that one day in the future her children will have good work and a good family.
