A loan of $650 helped to host his son's wedding.

Mamur's story

This is Mamur's first loan with our organization. He is a conscientious, goal-focused, and hardworking man. He was born in a rural area with good conditions for crop cultivation and raising livestock.

Mamur's son is currently in Russia, but he doesn't have consistent source of work. So Mamur cannot count on having money sent home by his son and works himself, raising crops and animals. As a result, he has a fair amount of experience in animal husbandry and agriculture. His main crops are wheat, barley and corn. Mamur uses his harvested crops to buy livestock at the market for low prices. He then fattens the animals up for a certain period of time, and resells the livestock at high prices. The livestock is maintained by feed that Mamur himself grows. Mamur's wife helps him run the business.

With the income he makes from his business, Mamur has improved his living conditions. This year Mamur planted 5 hectacres of barley, wheat and corn. However, because of unfortunate weather, his harvest was less than anticipated.

That's why he has applied to our organization for a loan of 3000 somoni so he can pay for his son's wedding. His son wants to marry the woman he loves and start a good family. Mamur is counting on your generosity.
