A citizen living in a rural area of Kandal Stoeng district in the Kandal province of Cambodia, Nary is a 52-year-old widow with six children, one of whom (a son) is still under her responsibility and is currently in school. To make a living, this single mother (Nary) farms rice and plants vegetables, the businesses in which she has been involved with for more than ten years, earning around 5USD per day and managing to save approximately 3USD after canceling out her daily expenses.
This will be Nary’s fourth time requesting a loan via VisionFund, Kiva’s partner. The previous loans have offered her with a sufficient working capital to support her current businesses, which provided the main source of the family’s income. This time, she is applying for a 600USD loan to buy a decent motorbike to support her vegetable-selling business. After receiving and utilizing the loan as she plans, Nary believes that she will be able to satisfy her customers more by delivering the vegetables quickly and on time.
About VisionFund Cambodia
