A loan of $1,025 helped to buy construction material to finish the front of her house.

Maria Corina's story

María is 62 years old and single. She manages a sewing service of traditional skirts for "cholitas" (girls of indigenous descent) from her own shop located in her home in the area of Pampahasi. This loan is her second one from the institution. María is going to use this loan to buy construction material for the repair of the front of her house, since her dream is to finish her home. Maria's business of making traditional indigenous Bolivian one-piece skirts is going well, but she faces challenges in her business, including a lack of machines and, sometimes, a lack of material when she receives wholesale order placements, depending on the tasks she has to perform. She is going to use the earnings to buy fabric. María is a hardworking person whose wish is to have a large shop, hire other workers and, in this way, teach young people the clothing trade.
