A loan of $975 helped to buy corn and broad bean seeds and to pay shipping costs.

Jesus's story

Jesús, 55, is a good, kind woman living with her spouse with whom she has a daughter who is now an independent adult who she fed and schooled with much love. She lives in her house with her spouse with whom she shares her days between work and joyful moments together. Jesús’ work consists in growing and harvesting various regional products. She heads out via river every week to a population center where she has her field where she grows various agricultural products like bananas, corn, beans and others. The harvested products are sold in a store her daughter has or in the city’s fishing port when she brings greater amounts. She’s been doing this work for ten years and her spouse helps her.

When she started doing this work it was a bit complicated because she did not have the required knowledge to be a good farmer but thanks to many training courses and to her wish for self-improvement she was able to attain it and now her land produces good quality products that are highly sought-after in the city. In addition to earning a good income, she likes being among nature and watching her plants grow. She hopes she’ll continue doing good and later on be able to plant in larger amounts.

This is MFP loan #4 and she’s grateful to the people who make the financing she needs to reach her goals possible. On the other hand, she commits to make her payments punctually and expects to continue working with her communal bank because of the fellowship and mutual support each of the members has for each other. She will use the requested 2,500 soles to buy corn and bean seeds to be able to plant larger amounts and will use the other part of the money to pay her products’ shipping costs.
