A loan of $600 helped to buy colored fabric, decorations, baloons, silicone and other decorating supplies.

Gavy's story

Gavy, 31, is a young woman with dreams. She’s the mother of a little four-month-old boy who is the fruit of her relationship with Jimmy, her spouse. They live together in her mother’s house supporting each other. They work from there every day to help improve their family’s standard of living.

Gavy’s work consists in decorating for children’s parties. She buys various fabric, balloons, decorations and other accessories she uses in her work. On occasion, she buys supplies to make everything needed according to customers’ wishes, the party theme and the age of the person being celebrated.

Her customers come to her either referred or because they are aware of the work she does. She has very good taste in assembling eye-catching figures and this is reflected in the entire environment she creates for the events she works. In general, she works alone. She’s been doing this for more than four years and is doing very well. She complements this business with selling clothes on credit or leasing out a mototaxi she bought two years ago. She’s doing very well now and what she likes about her work is the satisfaction she feels when she sees the expressions on her happy customers’ faces for everything she’s able to create even in small spaces. In addition, it’s a flexible type of work that allows her to care for her little boy.

She now wants to start a business buying fabric and chairs needed for parties to provide better service and generate additional profits by renting same. She will use the requested 1,500 soles to buy colored fabric, decorative accessories, balloons, silicone and other supplies she uses to decorate.
