A loan of $400 helped to buy nets of macabo and bunches of plantains.

Genevieve's story

Génévieve is a 42 year old woman, married and mother to 6 children whose ages range from 3 to 23 years old. She is a shopkeeper and has been selling fresh foods (macabos, maniocs, plantains, palm nuts and fruits) retail according to the seasons in a local market for 16 years. She has a good knowledge of suppliers, and especially of her clientèle which she gained with time thanks to her experience in this domain. But she finds herself constantly with stock shortages because she is obliged to sell all her stock to be able to buy again. This is because of her small capital. She would like to buy bunches of plantains and bags of macabo to have a good stock. This will allow her to better satisfy the constant demands of her clientèle and to avoid stock shortages. She will save her profits to not only expand her business but also meet the needs of her family.
