Fatu's story

Fatu, 49, lives in the Congo Town community with her husband. She is a mother of five children, aged between 22 and 38. Four of the children live with her at home but are not in school because she lacks financial support. Fatu stopped her own education in the 4th grade. She has had a table in the market where she has been selling peppers, onions, vita, salt, palm oil, rice and cooking oil for the past seven years. She sells from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and transports her goods by commercial vehicle. She is proud of her business because she makes profit, and with the profit she buys more goods to improve the business and attend the expenses of the home. She has requested this loan to purchase more peppers,onions, vita, rice, and palm oil for her business. Her plan for the future is to become a big businesswoman.
