A loan of $300 helped to pay for a photocopier and cosmetics for re-sale.

Bouweh's story

She is married with three children and lives in a two-room apartment house in Bamenda Mezam Division of the North West region of Cameroon.

She has encountered so many difficulties in life, including inadequate finances to pay tuition fees for her children. Because of this, the children are constantly being driven out of classes for the late payment of school fees and not having school supplies like pens, pencils, exercise books and text books. She has also been facing a great challenge with her children in her husband's house due to marital problems including her husband’s family members, the death of her father, the ill health of her mother and the inability to provide three square meals to her family each day.

With the new loan, she will improve her documentation business by buying a modern photocopier and papers for photocopying. She will also buy cosmetics like rubbing oil, lotions, bathing soaps and body treatments that are in high demand in her locality. She believes her business will succeed because of her expertise, the activity is in high demand in her community, she has a strategic business site near a school so students always photocopy papers from her, and she has good marketing skills in approaching new customers and maintaining old ones. The activity will benefit the people in the community because they will not need to go long distances to photocopy papers, photocopies will be made at a very moderate rate and the cosmetic products will be sold to them at reduced prices.

The profits will help her improve the housing conditions of her family, provide them with better education and healthcare, and expand her business. She prefers a loan from GHAPE because of the convenient repayment period, low interest and the social education they provide.
