A loan of $1,575 helped to buy alfalfa at wholesale.

Adela's story

Adela, 64, lives with her husband, Cloriano. They have four children she raised and schooled; they are all professionals now. She and Cloriano live alone in the house they bought 40 years ago. Despite her age, she continues working firmly attached to the countryside. “I like being in the countryside; I was born here, grew up here and will die here,” she mentions. This is why she grows alfalfa on the farmland she owns as well as other foodstuffs like potatoes and lima beans for her own consumption. Thanks to the years of work she was able to obtain good customers above all cattlemen who buy the alfalfa she grows. Because she does not produce enough, she also stocks up on the rest she needs from various farmers which is why she needs help from the loan to continue with her business of being an alfalfa wholesaler.
This is her fourth MFP loan and she’s grateful for the economic support she’s given because she’ll be able to continue with her projects of improving her business. She also promises to be punctual with her payments. Adela will use the money to buy alfalfa at wholesale to continue with her business.
