A loan of $600 helped to buy basic food products and ingredients at wholesale prices.

Liz's story

Liz, age 40, is a hardworking woman. She lives with Leónidas, her husband of 22 years. They have four children, three of whom they still care for in their own home.

Ever since she was young, Liz’s greatest dream has been to have a restaurant. Today she is happy because she has achieved what she longed for so much. Every morning she works without a break at preparing the food for her guests, who have been coming to her restaurant for seven years for the delicious dishes that only Liz cooks. Her specialty is homemade and balanced dishes made with high-quality products that she herself selects in the market –“they have to be fresh” she says. She works Mondays to Fridays, because she devotes all of her time on the weekends to her husband and children. Her husband works as an assistant in their town government, where he receives a monthly salary. Liz would now like to improve the infrastructure of her restaurant so that her customers are happy, and above all, comfortable, while eating.

This is Liz’s fifth loan with MFP. She feels happy because she has the necessary capital to improve her business and therefore her quality of life. Moreover, she likes belonging to her association because its members are supportive and hardworking. Upon receiving its support, Liz will invest the requested money in the purchase of basic food products and ingredients at wholesale prices, which she will use to prepare her dishes.
