The community bank “10 Estrellas del Norte will begin the second cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal de Alto Lima. There are eight members and it is headed by a board with Lidia as the President.

The business that the members of the communal bank are involved in are diverse and among them are: selling ice cream, knitting baby clothing, tire store, neighborhood store, selling soft drinks and gelatin, butcher shop, selling shoes and spinning wool. The loan that they are taking will benefit the small micro entrepreneurs in different ways.

Lidia is part of the group. She indicates that this is the third year belonging to Pro Mujer, joining at the invitation of a supporter of the institution who visited her at home.

Currently she has two hand-spun vicuna wool businesses. She learned from her mother years ago and today she still works at it. The loan that she is now taking is to increase her capital (to buy vicuna wool) that she will buy from the popular markets in the city of El Alto, and later she will sell her creations from orders. This kind of work permits her to generate income to support as much as possible her household as she is single and has a son.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she likes the credit and health training.

La A.C. “10 ESTRELLAS DEL NORTE” iniciará el segundo ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Alto Lima, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Lidia es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de helados, tejido de ropa de bebe, tienda de llantas, tienda de barrio, venta de refrescos y gelatinas, carnicería, venta de calzados, hilado de lana.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias con distintos rubros, donde la señora Lidia es parte integrante, ella indica que es el tercer año que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una promotora de la institución que la visitó en su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene dos negocios de hilado a mano de lana de vicuña, mismo que aprendió de su madre hace años atrás y que en la actualidad ella lo trabaja.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de lana de vicuña) que adquirirá de las ferias populares de la ciudad de El Alto, posteriormente a la elaboración lo comercializará a pedido. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para apoyar en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es soltera y tiene un hijo.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta la capacitación en crédito y salud.
