A loan of $1,825 helped a member to buy soft drinks.

Los Pinos Group's story

The communal bank "Los Pinos" will start its third cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal de Alto Lima. It is made up of eight members and a directing board of which Teofila is the president. The members' businesses are varied. Among them are: macramé blankets, a grocery store, grain sales, woven bed linens, chaps and hat sales, photo album sales, and macramé with rattail cord. The loan that they will take out will help micro-business owners with different businesses. Teofila is a member. She says that this is the third year that she has been part of Pro Mujer. She joined by invitation from a promoter of the institution who visited her in her home.

Currently, she has two businesses, which are neighborhood stores. She started them at her neighbors' request. The loan that she will take out is to increase capital (purchase of soft drinks) that she will get from the distributing stores around the city of El Alto. Later, she will sell them in her place of sale. This kind of work allows her to earn money to support her home as much as possible, since she lives in a common law marriage and has four children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the medical clinic.
