Grace Namuddu's Group
In this Group: Grace, Rose, Berna, Susan, Florence
Grace is a leader of a 5-member group. She is 30 years old and married with 5 children. They are 14, 12, 10, 8 and 1 years old. The four oldest are in school.

The community she resides and works in is rural. She has been providing these beauty salon services for 10 years in Lusaze, one of the suburbs of Kampala.
Her challenges include high rental fees and having to extend services on credit, especially to village mates. Another challenge is the seasonality of the services she provides.

She can now contribute adequately to the running of the home. She is requesting a loan to stock more hair supplies and purchase a hair dryer to increase profits. She would like to save money to buy a piece of land and construct a house. Grace has successfully paid back 5 loans.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
